Gareth Ashton
Managing Director
Gareth is the Founder and Managing Director of Counsel-R Energy with over 16 years' international experience, being UK-qualified with extensive experience in top-tier private practice and in-house.

Trained and Qualified with Maclay Murray & Spens (now Dentons), Gareth was part of its very successful Corporate/M&A department with an almost exclusive focus on the Energy Industry across trade and private equity during some very successful years for the industry when investments and M&A were extremely buoyant.
Thereafter, Gareth went on to hold Senior Commercial Counsel positions with large MNCs and General Counsel roles with ambitious, PE-backed SMEs in the Energy space across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific with cross legal and business responsibilities.

Gareth is also a certified Business Coach.

Patricia Kelly
Counsel-R
Trish has over 15 years of international legal experience in the energy, infrastructure, security, and defense industries. She has worked both in private practice and as in-house counsel with some of these industries' leading players including Baker & McKenzie in Tokyo, and with Baker Hughes Inc. out of Singapore, Jakarta and Beijing.

Presently, Trish's consulting practice focuses on negotiating value-added commercial arrangements for major projects in a variety of sectors for clients large and small.
With significant experience in the creation of, and training on, best practices and manuals for risk management and contract
lifecycle management, Trish is a valuable support for our clients.
Trish is a member of the Law Society of Ontario (Ontario, Canada), licensed to practice as a barrister & solicitor.
